Brightspace for Faculty
Log in to Brightspace
- To access Brightspace, go to https://brightspace.cuny.edu/ and log in with your CUNY Login username and password
- If this is the first time you use your CUNY login, first set up your CUNY Login Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- If you are using a shared computer, remember to log out of Brightspace

- From the course homepage, locate the Announcements widget.
- Click the dropdown arrow and choose Go to Announcements.
- Click New Announcement.
- Add your Headline and Content.
- (Optional) Set Start/End Dates, add attachments, or schedule posts.
- Click Publish (or Save as Draft to edit later).
- Click Content from the course navbar.
- In the Table of Contents, select an existing module or create a new one.
- Click New (or Upload/Create) to add: File (PDF, Word, PPT) Link to external resources Multimedia (via Insert Stuff) Existing Activities (Discussions, Quizzes, Assignments, etc.)
- Add descriptions, reorder units, and set dates/restrictions as needed.
- Go to Discussions.
- Click the Actions menu for the topic and select Assess Topic.
- Enter grades and feedback for each student and Publish to send to the gradebook.
- Navigate to Grades in the navbar.
- In Enter Grades or Manage Grades, find the item.
- Enter scores, adjust visibility, and provide feedback as needed. Note: You can also grade directly in Assign
